UPDATE: 4/21/2022
WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR DONATIONS AND SPONSORSHIPS!
WE ARE SOLD OUT FOR GOLFERS!!
All proceeds will be used to fund the Nevers Scholarship and Men’s Soccer Operations.
Coach Nevers was Eastern's first soccer coach, starting the program in 1961 and compiling a record of 153-76-14 (.658). He remains the program's 2nd winningest head coach. He coached the team when it played at Alumni Field (now the site of Webb Hall). The field was moved to its present location and it was named for Nevers during opening-game ceremonies on Sept. 4, 2001. It is now home to our Men’s and Women’s soccer teams. Nevers regularly attended Eastern soccer games until his passing. In the 1950s, Nevers coached a highly successful soccer program at Hale-Ray High School, and the Moodus school's soccer field also is named for Nevers. Without Tom, there is no Eastern Soccer! To date we have raised enough funds to endow and pay first scholarship in Fall of 2017 and support Men’s Soccer operations.
